Drifting Circle
Are people slipping out of your group without anyone noticing?
People said yes to your group, and some have quietly drifted. That doesn't mean they don't care. Usually it means they're not sure anyone noticed they were gone.
People stay where they're missed. Reaching out isn't busywork. It's shepherding.
Try one of these at your next gathering
Look back over the last six weeks.
Write down everyone's name and how many times they came. Then pick two or three people to reach out to.
Send a quick text when someone misses.
Within a couple of days: "Missed you last night! No pressure at all. Anything I can be praying about for you this week?" Short and real beats perfect.
Help your next guest come back.
Before they leave, tell them the next date. Then text them the next day to say you're glad they came.
Picture a group where people know they'll be missed, so they keep coming back.
