All the Weight on Your Shoulders
Are you carrying your whole group by yourself?
You've been faithful, and you're worn out. That's not because you don't love your people. Most of the time, it's because the group has slowly come to depend on you for everything.
That can change. You were never meant to carry this by yourself.
Try one of these at your next gathering
Make a list of everything you do.
Write down all the things you do for your group in a normal month. Next to each one, mark K for keep, S for share, or D for drop.
Hand off one thing and let go of one thing.
Pick one item from your share list to give to someone else this month, and one from your drop list to simply stop.
Ask one person to help.
"I've noticed how good you are at [welcoming people]. Would you be up for [leading prayer] next time?"
Picture a group that runs on many shoulders, and a leader who looks forward to group night again.
